Maraschino Cherries

  Ingredients
2 lbs frozen cherries
1 juice from lemon
2 Tbsp pure vanilla
1 C sugar in the raw
1 C amaretto

Directions

  1. Boil sugar in 1 C water to dissolve.
  2. Mix everything together in a big mason jar, using enough amaretto to cover the cherries.
  3. Settle in the fridge for 3 days.

  • Sugar variety substitues: demerara, turbinado.
    • These simple syrups are great for old fashions as well.
  • Could add in a cinnamon stick too.
