Chocolate pecan pie

  Ingredients
1 unbaked pie shell (9 inch)
2 C pecan halves
3 large eggs, beaten
3 T melted butter
½ C dark corn syrup
1 C sugar
2 T good quality bourbon
3 oz semisweet chocolate, chopped

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375
  2. Cover bottom of pie crust with pecans
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk together eggs and melted butter.
  4. Add the corn syrup, sugar, bourbon, and chocolate.
    1. Stir until all ingredients are combined.
    2. Pour mixture into pie shell, over top of pecans
  5. Place on a cookie sheet and bake
    1. For 10 mins
    2. Lower temp to 350 and continue to bake for 25 mins, until pie is set
  6. Remove from oven and cool on wire rack

Appendix

  • 25 mins way too short.
    • 50 was too long.
  • No gram cracker crust, use traditional.
  • Probably need need real baker squares, not chocolate chips.
